FORM design workshop, established in February of 1999 by Adam Barton and David Milner, is an architecture and design studio and workshop in Berkeley, CA. We specialize in residential architecture and product design, pursuing an integral approach that incorporates both the shop and the studio.
The pursuit of design innovation requires a much broader definition of practice than is typically afforded the architect. We feel that it is essential to research design through interaction with materials, exploring their properties and the logic of their connection to one another.
Through fabrication projects such as furniture and prototypes, models and sculpture, drawing and painting, we discover new relationships, new expressions for familiar material, and ways in which new material can be incorporated in our architecture.
